Small problem with 3GS
Hey everybody
I have a tiny problem, and i do have the solution to my own problem, but here is what im asking
I have a 16gb Unlocked 3GS phone on the old baseband, using FW 3.1.2, [dont get excited i used a custom FW] which works really well if anybody wants the link il post it in a second, but i used the unactivated custom FW, i activated the phone with a Rogers Sim card....
Here is my problem, when i get to iTunes now with my present sim card, it says sim card not recognized, now i have the other custom FW, and i know i can just run through it with it, but i dont want to, is there anyway to hacktivate it knowing i already have cydia, and ultrasnow as my unlock???
here is the link for the firmware i have if anybody wants
Please do not post links to custom ipsw, or any warez!
it works like a charm, stock iphone logos, none of the custom bu11sh1t and also no carrier name, very decentLast edited by Zwayne; 10-31-2009 at 07:15 PM.

It shouldn't do that. Problem was you used an unactivated version which is meant for AT&T users. iTunes will read your sim as foreign because of that. I don't know of any bypasses in that regard but I can't say there isn't. All I know is the easiest way is probably just to redo everythig with an already activated fw. Btw thanks for being generous but it'd be safe to remove that link. It's a copyright infringement and Apple can get on your case about it.

Thanks for your response, i plan to go ahead and wipe everything, and thanks for the heads up, a mod already contacted me about the link, i do apologize for the mishap and i will ensure it wont happen again
Have a good one
Edit, i found another solution, i inserted the sim card that phone was activated with, and it works fine with the other sim card now, i am not sure about it on another computer, il post an update soon.Last edited by thebug3000; 11-01-2009 at 02:16 PM. Reason: Automerged Doublepost

After the iPhone is unlocked will it still connect to iTunes and the App store just the same as when it was connected with AT&T?
