I'm getting a factory unlocked 3gs from Singapore to use with my 02 SIM card in UK. As the phone will be activated with a Singtel (network in Singapore) SIM card, will there be any problems restoring my iphone with a different SIM card from the one it was activated with?

I was told by the Apple team in Singapore that the same Singtel SIM card has to be inserted used for restore otherwise the phone will be locked.

Also apparently tethering and some other functions (not sure what?) will not work because the phone will be configured with Singtel's settings. Is this easily fixed by manually reconfiguring them?

Are you sure its factory unlocked? I have a factory unlocked and it activates with any sim card.
