Jody Sanders $10,000 reward.
The die hard geeks in the iPhone community are against him and his prize. But I don't see anything wrong, even in selling the unlock...
The unlock will remain free on cydia. But some people need phone and personal assistance. Most of them are aware that there is a free way to unlock the iPhone yet they still want to pay to get a personal service. The guy is not doing anything wrong. Even if you can get help here, not everyone is a geek that will check out the forums 24/7. And sometimes posts are ignored and people are often rude because a noob posted a "stupid question".
Most people that will buy the unlock from his site are complete n00bs with computers. You wouldn't believe how computer illiterate 90% of apple customers are, especially with the iPhone crowd. Apple just hit the jackpot and made a cool device that even grandma wants.
Now concerning the 5.11.07 unlock, he is actually doing us a favor, there are at least 3 guys working on the unlock. Before that some people I won't name would be all negative and say there would maybe never be an unlock because nobody would work on it since "only a few people" need it. Man were they wrong.
I believe there are thousands of people wanting an unlock and if the demand wasn't high, Jody wouldn't take the opportunity of sponsoring the next unlock...He saw that there was a market and he grabbed it. He is just smart. He invested $10,000 and is most likely gonna make more.
Now all the nerds need to shut up. Stop crying because those guys are making **** load of money and you are not.Last edited by M4tt Dam0n; 10-28-2009 at 04:44 PM.

I agree, and even if he sell it and there is no other option, then, I pay for it...at least he offer a big chunk for it, maybe because of him and his offer, I will be able to unlock my phone, maybe the dev team is angre because they was not offered the 10k

The sale will not last. As soon as the unlock has been made available it will be hacked and ported to a free version.

The reason people are against Jody is because he has done nothing but STEAL everyone's work in the past and sell it for his own profit. All unlocks, jailbreaks he is profiting on have been done by other people and distributed for free.
He's a thief.
Now....as far as him paying (finally, for once) for someone to create a current unlock - Great! If it will get the job done, there's nothing wrong with that.

If he is a THief..so what? Go ask your self if you havent ever steal anything.. and tell everyone here that you are innocent.. c`mon...
If he did steal it..he perhaps did a mistake like we all do...or he did steal it to make profit of it...or he did steal it beacause perhas he alone can do it and do it better? or he did still it because the had some personal problems that we don`t know about and to revenge he did that...
Actually we really DONT know what the Cause is...
So don`t accuse him if you dont know the real reason why he did it...we are not in his mind or head.. we were not there when it did happend...
Lets just keep him positive to let him do his thing so we all and other that are in need of this UNLOCK can have it..
I would personally pay for it also..I love my iphone...and if you really want something...you`ll do anything to get to the money to pay for this unlock..so dont be stupid talking BS...
I mean he uses his spare time, free time...after work/school.or what ever and to do something for the whole world..and hes not getting paid..he is doing it because he loves doing those things...
Just put yourself in his shoes and think that you are working one some crack code in your free time and you have perhaps a girlfriend...and all your time goes to the crack and you are not getting paid...you lose the girl and time and not getting paid..
You know what that means?
GO ask your mom.!!

^^Thats a pretty sad way of looking at things......
"Its ok to steal depending on the reason"
Doesnt matter why he did it - its still wrong. And no Ive never stole anything, just because you do (as I assume since you see nothing wrong with it) doesnt mean everyone does.
He made thousands upon thousands of $$$ off the dev-team's work, a group that, among doing the actual countless hours of work......did it for FREE.

A thief by any other name is still a thief. Will the 10k appear once the unlock is created? Highly doubt it. Will he continue to deceive people when the unlock is available? Undoubtably so.

actually, and this is a universal true...everybody steal something in their life's...Like 1 buck from your mom purse to buy an ice cream, and be honest with yourself...all the software in your computer is legal? the 100% of it, all the music in your ipod/iphone you purchase it.... according to the strict term of stealing, if you do not pay for it or acquired it in a legal way, that is stealing, so...I can not talk about moral, or maybe I can talk about it, if I don't have it, so will be totally opposite of what i do, I don't know =, maybe I am getting to deep on this subject, maybe we just take the light side of it, all the people were not working on the Unlock, and now all are doing it, so steal or not, maybe in a couple of days all the people with a locked iphone will be able to use it..

^ Wow. It's sad that stealing music has become such a norm among teenagers that these kids don't think its wrong anymore.

Boo hoo poor dev team lol. I have trouble understanding that he is "stealin anything when the dev team decided to work for free. It's not like dev team lost money or anything right? Since their work is free. Like I said in my post he is NOT stealing. If you look at it closely he is only offering his services to assist people who can't do it themselves. Yes even with 1 click unlocks alot of people manage to have problems and they find it easier to get assistance by phone. This service he's charging for and has the right to do it. Nothing illegal.
If Jody sanders is stealing. Then with the same logic we are all stealing because were not giving our money to AT&T and all the iPhones bought to official iPhone carriers since we chose to unlock and those company are "losing" money.

you know what? I didnt read the rest of your post except for the part I bolded. Looks like we are having understanding issues herre with ya. He said, nothing personal against jody. All he said was this guy has made heaps of money for no effort of his, so once he is paying for an unlock and we all would enjoy that unlock serves about right, if u consider the amount of money he made with others efforts. So there is a difference between what you understood and what he said.

why are you crying about the dev team not getting money when they made it Clear they're refused any donation(for reasons I don't understand). Jody offered 10k to the first to unlock. If the dev team wants money they should work on an unlock or even let people donate. Anyone can get the 10k it's the first one who makes it. Dev team don't want **** for their hard work it's their decision lol. It's not because the dev team are too stubborn to accept donations that other people can't make money out of this. I think the dev team has a big ego and they don't want anyone else having the spotlight remember the dev teams reaction when geohot released purplesn0w and purplera1n?

The Dev team puts more work into their jailbreaks than Geo does. Their products are polished when released on the masses. I don't care either way as long as there is a way to get around a stock phone.
Instead of charging people for unlocks/jailbreaks link them to a site that actually helps people achieve it themselves. Teach them how to fish themselves.
