Activate 3GS

Hello
i am trying to activate 3GS with the latest soft and bootloader

i ordered it from apple store and dont want to activate via itunes or sign up with ATT.

i tried blacrain and it goes thru the process, but the "Connect to itunes logo still appears and itunes wants my SSN and wants me to activate"

Restoring also didnt work, because after it goes thru the process it says "unknown error occurred"

is there a way to activate iphone that hasnt been activated with itunes?

You should be able to use a custom firmware that does not require activation.

could you explain a bit more?
i am on win7 so i cant use mac tools.

i tried restoring with iPhone2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore i donwloaded and also iPhone2,1_3.1.2_7D11_Restore

i havnet still tried apples Restore as i didnt want to upgrade just in case (although i ordered the phones 2 weeks ago so they should have the newest soft anyway?)
