I think it's sad that it takes a 10k "incentive" to convince Geohot to work on an unlock. (who made it *very* clear he had no intentions to work on the unlock anytime in the future).

Muh....sad.....heck Im not gonna lie, if someone offered me $10k it would make me say yes too. I dont see anything wrong with it, he is a genius and I think its awesome when he or any dev member puts countless hours worth of work in any solution jailbreak/unlock......why not get paid for it at some point.

He got plan to learn neuro science to "hack the brain" so 10k would be really nice for him proceed that plan!

Didn't he also sell the hard unlock from the first one for a 350z and a few iphones? Being in college and having little time for other things sometimes that extra ummph can make someone stay up a couple days and get one pushed out.

Heck I even sent jodysanders a thank you message to him for giving George Hotz motivation. Say whatever you want but sometimes someone has to do something to wake up someone elses motivation to do something. Well even though jodysanders in fact does it to make even more 10's of thousands. But he isn't alone and at least he is giving back something. Also... The nightmare of just yesterday when I heard "never" and at least 8-9 months (Chronic) to 6 months+ (iH8sn0w). So this is great news for me, you got to be in my shoes to understand what little hope can do... Even so I am scared George Hotz will say: "Nah there is no exploit, no hope". Scares me to death. Because I live in Vietnam and my iPhone is from Japan. And I have had a ipod Touch 3G instead of a iphone for 2 months now.

There is hardmod by replacing/downgrading the baseband here in Vietnam but sadly it only works for 3G, now I have no idea why it is not possible for 3GS but it just aren't. Another solution a phone company offered my was replacing the IMEI number for 130$ but since everyone I know is advicing me not to do it, I didn't do it in the end. So I guess donating to George Hotz is a much better place to put the money

yep its not the first time he'd make loads of money out of this. the funny thing is that it's just a hobby. I am sure he won't have trouble finding a job later. Or even start his own company.

10k or not, if he can do it, he will have all my respect... be honest a lot of people were clear "we are not working on it" and now that he is doing it..are working and also, a lot says they have it and is not true, so if he do it, I will be more than happy to donate, WHAT? yes a lot of people are buying and paying 29 dollars for an unlock that does not work, so I will happy donate.

Well Now that I know him better than i previously knew him. He ain't that kinda guy who would do it for the sake of money, not to mention the N number of business proposals he rejected. May be its like more n more people getting stuck up on the dreaded NO UNLOCK baseband which actually convinced him to go for it. He is a iphone genius who doesn't come for a price is what I can tell you

I don't care *why* he is working on it...just that he is! I see nothing wrong with getting a lil' something-something in order to make a ton of people happy. In fact, I bet there are a LOT of people who wouldn't mind forking over a couple of bucks here and there to donate. This is a long time coming and if he can pull it off--then he wears the crown.

Angie, here is not the Dev Team blog, you can post your "Motivational" comments there.

At the end he can do whatever he wants. he create it...he is good on this, unlock in 30 secs and no need to create firmwares or whatever...if you don't like the guy, post it in the dev team, here, we love the dude...and his work

I hava iphone 3g with which i accidentaly upgraded ot 3.1 then downgraded to 3.0 but have 5.11.07 baseband and 5.9 bootloader... Does any one kow if there is an unlock on its way?
