activate iphone 2g after unlcok/jailbroken with 3.0

iphone 2g
unlocked to 3.0 with redsnow
old ATT Blue sim card - not a 3g iphone approved one.

the phone needs to be activated.

i can make an emergency call and receive calls, but not get past the screen that says the phone needs to be connected to itunes (usb cable icon pointing to cd and itunes logo)

any idea how to "activate" the phone.
in itunes i get the message:
the sim card inserted in this iphone does not appear to be supported.

only campalie im cards from a supported carrier may be used to activate the iphone.

The jailbreak shouldve gotten you past it and onto your springboard. Are you sure you jailbroken it?
