Question Question about losing the carrier logo and make-it-mine

Currently I am using the purple JB/UL solution on 3.0 (which doesn't have the carrier logo problem), and considering the upgrade to 3.1.2 due to a couple apps that require 3.1.

But the carrier logo problem might be a deal breaker for me, so please help me understand the issue.

I live in a border area, where the phone will frequently jump to the carrier of the neighbouring country and back. Making a call while the carrier has been jumped is quite costly, so I monitor the carrier with the carrier logo to see where I am at.

From what I can understand, the make-it-mine fix is a hard, manual way to change the carrier logo. When one roams into another carrier zone, does the logo still stay the same, or does it disappear or in any way show an indication that I am no longer in Kansas?

Is there a solution to the logo problem that is dynamic?

    TIA
    /a

I work in an area that borders on high cost roaming towers and cannot use makeitmine because of this same issue. I am afraid it won't change my carrier to Offnetwork when I am roaming. I haven't actually tried it, but next week I can take one for the team and check it out. This is one of the major reasons why I haven't upgraded myself. That and tethering.

It will not change as it overwrites the original plist file. It will always show the Make it Mine logo that you have put. If I am not mistaken, with the 3.1.2 pwned custom ipsw file, it has been solved and the carrier logo does appear.
