Restoring iphone but still no signal.

Hi everyone, I'm new here. I have restored my iphone several times, but it still is not picking up any signal, even from 02, the exclusive network for iphone (as I'm based in the UK). I bought this phone on ebay as no signal faulty so I don't know its history. Maybe it has been unlocked and jailbroken before.

I suspect the previous owner has accidently updated the software on itunes hence this problem. I just want to know if it's normal iphone not picking up signal from its exclusive network, even after restoring.

It will only pick up a signal if you have an official, in network and active sim card.

So, in your example, have you tried putting an active O2 sim in the phone?

yes i have. But still no signal. Actually it detects 02 but the bar indicating the signal is always zero. DOes this mean it's hardware problem not software.
