You can unlock it. Sorry
Shoulda done your research before you updated/bought an updated phone...I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

There's currently nothing you can do to unlock the phone to be used with any network other than AT&T. There's currently no estimated date when you will be able to unlock the phone and no currently announced projects that are said to be working on an unlock.
tl;dr: you're extremely ******. sell the phone. buy a new one.

Yup. The current situation is, indeed, balls.
Kind of like this

U have a choice regardless of the cancellation fees and move over to ATT and I will when my tmobile contract is up next year. yes I will pay more but at least I don't have to worry the unlock gamble and jailbreak. I need my iphone to be at the very least reliable and activated. Is that too much to ask?

Can this person not use a turbosim? Is that also limited by basebands??

The Turbosim only works with 2.28 iirc.

@ Confucious...
Thats not true at all. That was straight from the dev teams blog. I'm sure they are working on it. Slowly but surely, something will come... if nots with this baseband, then with the next. I say 2 months, we'll have an unlock soon...We’ll continue to work on a carrier unlock for the latest basebands, but the timeframe for such an unlock is unknowable.)

They are not working on unlocking 5.11.07 baseband.
What they post on the blog is 100% true.. but it phrases it's mainly to get people off their backs.I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

I bet anything, there will be an unlock for 05.11.07.
Maybe not by the dev team, but there will be one. You'll see.

^^The baseband would again be updated. Soo there is no F**** use trying to unlock it. Noone is trying atm AFAIK.

I mean, aren't *all* the basebands going to eventually be updated?
The dev team is probably concentrating on future jailbreaking methods (would be my guess).

^^Well if what you say is true, then there is no point in preparing for something which is yet to come rather than try something on the present one. :BS
