Unlock 3GS without Cydia?

I already have my 3GS unlocked on pwned 3.1 but I don't use Cydia at all.

I remember there was an app in the past to unlock the phone without having to install ultrasn0w from Cydia.

Any way to do this now or any way to get rid of Cydia without using SSH?

yeah you can delete cydia, from within cydia.

You have to delete installer, or something along those lines.

To get it back, you have to re-jailbreak...

edit: its called cydia installer

If I were you I would just hide the icon with poof or whatever. If you ever need a program from cydia, you'll have to re-jailbrak to get cydia back.

^ agreed, it'll be a pain when you want to update something.

I use categories to keep cydia off my springboard, but you can use sbsettings too

I wouldn't do this OP.

@Roberto, if your 3Gs is running 3.1 from Apple (not the Pwnage-tool created one), then you cannot unlock your phone.

If it's running the jailbroken one and you updated from 3.0 or 3.0.1 (and do not have the 05.11 baseband) then just add repo666.ultrasn0w.com to your sources, install Ultrasn0w, and reboot!
