My girlfriends old iphone was unlocked and used with t-mobile. Me being a genius I was trying to restore the phone so I can use it for my self since she had gotten another phone. As the restore was being completed it asked me to plug into itunes. Surely enough I plugged it in and I got a message saying that the sim card wasn't supported (t-mobile sim). Anyone got any ideas on how I can get out of this mess??? please?!?
Here is a link to firmware, download 3.0 it will be the easiest way to fix this for you.
Then do a hold-Shift+Restore in iTunes and point to the firmware you downloaded. (Download to desktop) and let the phone do it's thing. Download redsn0w 0.8 here. You will also need 2 bootloader files you can get here, (they are 3.9 and 4.6) they are at the bottom of the page here
Then run redsn0w and follow the screen prompts, very easy and it will walk you through the entire process.
Thanks for the info I will try it in a minute. only thing is that when I plug it into itunes it wants to activate it and wont give me the option to restore.
Then you will have to put the phone in DFU mode, here's how.
When the phone is in DFU mode, it will have a blank black screen, it may take more that 1 try.
DFU mode
