iPhone 3G 3.0 question

So, I have a question. I tried to find the answer in other threads but no luck. So here it is.

My iPhone 3G is on FW 3.0 with baseband of 4.26.08, it's unlocked with ultrasnow and being used on T-Mobile and I want to upgrade to 3.1. I've understood that when you update to apple's 3.1 via itunes that you can't unlock it again with ultra snow since the baseband changes. I downloaded the 3.1 FW and the newest version of the Pwnage Tool.

So, it is possible for me to update to 3.1 via customer firmware on Pwnage Tool and still use Ultra snow to unlock it? If so, can you guide me to the proper steps so I won't risk not being able to unlock my iPhone.

sounds right. use pwnage 3.1 to create custom fw..then apply that to 3G.. Do NOt use iTunes to get 3.1
