Planing on buying 3GS Need clarification

I plan on buying the iPhone 3GS tomorrow. From what I read apple has stopped signing the 3.0 firmware, so is it possible for me to buy one out the store, come home and jailbreak & unlock it?

Depends on what firmware is loaded on it obviously, which you wont know till you buy it.

I HIGHLY doubt it comes with 3.1, but I know if it does I can't do anything lol

If you are lucky enough to get an iPhone 3GS with 3.0 or 3.0.1, you can jailbreak it with redsn0w 0.8. But, if anything goes wrong after that, you are screwed because you will be forced to restore firmware 3.1 which can not be unlocked at the moment.

I have an iPhone 3G 8GB and wanted to get an iPhone 3GS 32GB. But, right now it is too risky. I am going to wait until the Dev_Team has both a jailbreak and unlock solution for the 3.1 firmware on the 3GS.

I'm kinda in the same situation. I just bought an 3gs with 3.0. I want to JB and unlock the phone and I know I can do it for 3.0 but my biggest concern is getting the three sacred files, the IBSS ECID and that other one. I know that it's too late to get them for 3.0 as apple is no longer signing them but will unlocking and JB it now screw me up when 3.1 JB is released?
I know Sir Freeman was saying (or was he?) that we will be able to get the 3 files once 3.1 JB is out and as long as we didn't go 3.1 before the 3.1JB is out? Help please. Thanks

Well truly that's not my concern....aslong as it's unlocked when I sell it on ebay I'm pretty much covered...I just want buy it to sell it so I can buy a HTC Touch HD

I imaging if you include those files when you ebay your phone you might be able to get a premium.
