Apple replaced my 3GS iPhone but I'm screwed
Sh1t, I got my 3GS replaced early this week due to a display problem. I didnt get around to grabbing my ECID & IBSS files again so I guess I’m screwed. I do have the files from the old 3GS that was replaced but I guess they are iphone specific,
If I were to jailbreak with redsn0w is there a way to get ECID and IBSS through cydia or am I screwed until they get a new exploit for 3.1 and or the new baseband. I'll stick with 3.01 till I hear if theres some hope though I'd love voice dialing through bluetooth now
can anyone offer advice or a solution?Eric's iPhone 4 4.01 offically unlocked

If it's still under 3.1 redsnow > cydia, then there's a new app that will grab those files for you. However if on 3.1 your out of luck.

Thanks, I was hoping that would work but I've heard the cydia app no longer works becuse it still relies on signing. Can anyone confirm this before I try as I dont want to get to 3.1 without these files

It won't work if Apple doesn't sign the files.
Apple doesn't sign the files, so you're out of luck.I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something

Maybe I'm asking too much, but it seems to me we (the real experts
) should be able to sign this stuff and get on with our lives. Just a thought
