Question! Help would be appreciated :D
um, i just got an iPhone 3GS as a present. It came from Hong Kong and i am not there now, it is unlocked and like i think it is hardware unlocked because when i got it, it was unlocked without using ultrasn0w, i am just wondering, is my iPhone 3GS hardware unlocked? what if i restore it, do i need to activate it again? i wasnt there when they first activated it and i just updated from a iPhone 2G to this. some help would be nice

^ agree. does it work with any SIM card? then you have a prize there. You should have no problem with iTunes then as far as I know.

Since these phones in the US are rare, we don't get much info on them. I have read that once it is activated and factory unlocked, it will always be that way. I wouldn't be scared to sync and even update firmware. The best thing about it if for some reason it gets locked, you can always unlock it again with a jailbreak/unlock. SO go for it and keep us posted.

You will see the number when you sync to iTunes and also in settings/general/about
