Ok, heres another question!
If i have an At&T sim card do I need to unlock the iphone with Ultrasn0w?
It is still a 3g sim card I just don't have a data plan

If it is any AT&T phone, No. If it is from another provider, Yes.

Whats this I hear about apple being able to realize you dont have a data plan and force it into your contract? is it true?

Not that I heard of. I don't believe you can fully disable EDGE, so you might incur a data fee though.
