Using iTunes with Jailbroken/Unlocked Phone & Stopping Auto Updates
So I upgraded my original iPhone 4GB to 3.0 OS, and jailbroke and unlocked with Redsnow .8.
Will I be able to use iTunes or will it lock up once it detects Cydia (spelling?) and that the phone is unlocked?
Are there alternatives to iTunes that may eliminate any problems?
Should I use iTunes and backup somewhere else? Where/how do people backup?
Should I set either (1) the iPhone or (2) iTunes not to check for automatic O.S. updates - and where should I do this? In iTunes, under Edit, Preferences - There are checkboxes for download/update preferences under both the "General" and "Store" tabs. ??
Any help is always appreciated. Thks!

You can use iTunes as you normally would, just don't let it update. And yes, there is somewhere in iTunes where you can turn the auto-updates off.
Respect your elders.

You can do anything with your iPhone now that you could before, and that includes syncing with iTunes

As for the updates, don't worry if it checks for the update or not, it'll ask you whether you want to update or not everytime, just say no!I always feel sorry for the guy in the iPhone commercials. He always gets a call right in the middle of trying to do something
