UDID - 100 spots for $99,

I have a question,

What would you possibly do with 100 available spots for devices on a standard dev account?

You know what I mean? I have 1 iPhone. What would I possibly do with the other 98 available spots? Why does Apple do that? Do single app developers really own 100 iphones or ipods? I can see the Enterprise Standard cause multiple users can log in, but a standard personal $99 account also has 100 spots.

Just wondering what good these are now. Incase I break my iPhone 98 times this year? LOL, I guess if I was a drinker. ...

People are able to sell spots for $5 or $10 USD. That way if you sell 20 or 10 spots, respectively, you've paid off your dev account. People usually buy dev spots if they illegally updated to a beta and their phone got "bricked" or if they want to try out the beta.

This is basically blkcadi's answer but elaborated more.

OK lets play a little game called modesty, honesty and respectivly.

Free way to get added. Find 5 posts that help you and thank that person, then find 5 posts and help those people. Let me know when complate and I will add you free of charge to the server.

Dont have that much time.

If your a modest, honest and respectible person, you should like this. Just a way to see how honest people are. I will not even check to see if you really helpped someone or not.

This thread looks more like it should be in the chit chat area. BTW you can have your game but selling your spots on here is SPAM. After you have been here for a month and have more than 31 posts you can sell your spots in the B|S|T area.

I did. You can now install any 3.1 beta and it will work. Just remember you will be tied to the betas and will have look for a way to downgrade if you choose too. Let me know if you need a link to the 3.1 beta 2. Also what type of iphone or ipod do you have. Thanks.

Don't upgrade to the betas if you require an unlock or if you are on a 3GS and wish to jailbreak

I can understand the unlock part. But why if you are on 3GS? I have 3GS and 3.1 Beta 2 is working great. Just wondering if I am missing something. Thanks.

OH my MMS is still working after 4 days. Just FYI. I still have teather as well.

So after a month and 31 posts I can go ahead and sell these? Well maybe if I still have some left then. I don't know... LOL. Thanks.

Well I have the iPhone 3G and I downloaded the 3.1 2 beta it did not even ask me to put in my udid and my mms works too finaly and thanks for that add

It didn't say anything to you cause I had already added your devices UDID. How it works is that when you upgrade to that version. iTunes go out to apple dev site to see if your UDID is on a server. If it is it is activated and the software works. If it is not on a server it will error out and tell you.
