2g stuck in slide for emergency mode...plz help!

Here i am again on my hands and knees begging for help...everytime ive had an issue with an iphone i have found a solution from posting and reading the forums here. I have unlocked and jailbroke a few 2gs and none had any significant problems...until now. My friend brought me his newly acquired 2g 16 gb iphone. It already had 3.0 but was for at&t. Sooo i did what i did to mine and four of my friends(ours worked): using redsnow, i made it all the way to the bootneuter phase and it got stuck on "determining current settings" i waited forever and finally had to shut it down with the power/home thing. When i boot it up it then says "insert a valid sim...blah blah pin code blah blah..." i know for a fact this is wrong becuz i used mine in my phone and it worked, and even restored with mine in his iphone, still the same message. i entered into dfu mode and restored it even, and still the same message! Please helpppp! thank you

After you restore, plug it into iTunes. You have to do that to activate it.
