please help me! super noob

hey guys so i have an iphone 3g 8gigs
it has firmware 2.2.1 and i wanna unlock it.
i have tried winpwn 2.5 but it frezes on me.
and winpwn 2.2 didnt give me an option to unlock. i got cydia and installer but no unlock.

i tried gogintinto cydia and downloading yellow snow from there and that didnt work.

please give me a hand

You need to use redsn0w to jailbreak and then go to cydia and install ultrasnow to unlock.
