Iphone 3G unlock OS 2.2.1 and Bootloader 6.02

I have an iphone with OS 2.2.1 and bootloader 6.02 and i had it unlocked with turbo sim and i had enough of it !It got torn up and now i need to unlock my iphone using yellowsn0w or any other software that would help me any suggestions ? Maybe going to OS 3.0 or downgrading the baseband IF POSSIBLE .

Download from this site the 3.0 ipsw suitable for your phone. Restore it through iTunes 8.2 (windows shift+restore and mac command/option+restore) to the firmware you just downloaded. Jailbreak with redsn0w 0.7.2. Go to Cydia and add source "repo666.ultrasn0w.com" and install ultrasn0w. Don't forget to turn off 3G. Restart phone. All done.

Btw, your bootloader indicates a baseband downgrade is not possible. If restoring to 3.0, your baseband must be 4.26.08.

If you don't want to upgrade to 3.0, download a custom ipsw for 2.2.1 to restore to; continue to use ultrasn0w if your baseband is above 2.28. If it is under 2.28, you may use yellowsn0w.

If you have a mac, jailbreak with pwnagetool is an option too.
