Default iPhone t-mobile data plan no longer working

    Hello,
    I recently got an iPhone 2g. I upgraded to 3.0 and jailbroke/unlocked.

I purchased the 9.99 Unlimited web data plan from t-mobile.

I set the apn to internet2.voicestream.com

It worked for about a week. Now, I get a message saying that I need to upgrade my subscription to use data on the phone. (it redirects in Safari)

I have tried every apn I have seen, they all give me a similar message.

I put my SIM card in my old Nokia flipphone, and t-zones/web browsing works just fine.

How does t-mobile know when I am on my iPhone? The nokia uses internet2.voicestream.com also (I checked)

I am assuming it is the IMEI number on my iPhone. Is there a way to spoof this so t-mobile think I am using my Nokia?

    Thanks

    Welcome to MMi

They know because of the imei of the phone. Couple threads about this already, T Mo is wising up. The days of the super cheap data from T mo may be a thing of the past.

Thanks for reply. I was googling around and saw some stuff on changing/spoofing the IMEI with ziphone.

Is there any chance of that working?

Okay... I guess I just won't have data, way to expensive otherwise.
