How to Get Data Connection to Work?
I've unlocked my first-gen iPhone for a guy I work with to buy. I tested it today and everything works fine, but when I try to use Safari. It tells me that it "Cannot activate cellular data network" and I know he has a internet plan. He is currently using a Blackberry Curve if that helps. But yeah, how do I get the data connection to work?

You have to input the correct APN settings into the settings - network - blah blah....they are specific to the carrier and data plan.

Oh wow. I completely over-looked the "Cellular Data Network" tab at the very top of "Network". Wow. I feel like a dumba$$ now. Thanks guys. I used redsn0w btw.

The phone should be faster jailbroken now with the new perks under the hood. I look forward to a fast jailbroken phone that stays fast for more than a few days heh.

Sooooo guys..... I put in the correct APN settings and it still gives me the "Cannot activate cellular data network" message. I put the sim back in the Curve and the internet works fine.

use this to make your apn work for almost any service - on 3.0 they remove the apn option because it should only be used with att so go to this website on your Iphone Unlockit - APN Changer for your iPhone and follow the directions I used it and oh my god it saved me 2 days of getting mad.. I hope this helps everyone and its free but hey please donate to this guy he did a great thing for everyone for helping us out
Here go here how to get internet to work
