iPhone 2g, upgrade using Pwnage 2.x Guide

Hello, please forgive me if this seems an easy question, or if it has been well documented on here already (which I'm sure it has, but I can't find an answer which accurately reflects my situation).

I have a jailbroken 2g running 1.1.1 with baseband 04.01.13_G and I would like to upgrade the firmware before I pass the phone on to a friend. I like the look of the Pwnage 2.x Guide as this seems very easy. My question is, can I just run the tool with my phone in it's current unlocked state, or do I need to do something before hand to avoid bricking the phone?

Any help is greatly appreciated.

There is nothing that cant be fixed ( i really dont think that anything will go wrong
