I am preparing to unlock with 3.0 using ultrasn0w...I upgraded to iTunes 8.2 and now when I plug in my iPhone and get the "The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported" message. Will this be an issue? I have a 2.2 3G.

That's b/c your phone is not unlocked. Ultrasn0w will take care of it. It will be released on Friday.

You must wait for the tool to be released and then you run it on your phone.

I wasnt that impatient...my double post was due to the lag in the forum server after 3.0 was released

Anyway, I was just asking because usually with my unlocked 3G 2.2 iphone, I could plug it in and sync through iTunes. But now it won't let me update or sync, which is why I was asking if this was gonna be a problem. Apparently it wont be, so I will wait off til friday!

You are getting that message because your phone is not Jailbroken yet. It has nothing to do with Ultrasnow or an unlock. As soon as you Jailbreak it will go away.

just take out your sim and put a AT&T sim in it(doesnt matter if its active or not) when ever you have to connect to the comp for sync or what ever you have to do

If you really need to sync your phone or connect to iTunes just put it into airplane mode to bypass the unsupported sim message. But like I said just wait until tomorrow and Jailbreak, then this will all be history.

I already did this and it didn't work. And my phone is already jailbroken, I use tmobile and cydia...but I'll just wait til tomorrow.

2. I'm not in US, can't get my hands on a AT&T sim, or T-Mobile

How do you put it in airplane mode if i cant even access it?? It says on the screen to put in a valid sim and activate. No way to get into airplae mode. YOU FAIL DUDE
