Default iPhone 2G rebooting and rebooting and rebooting...

    Hi,

I'll try not to be too silly ;-)
I am an IT professional, but who knows...

I have an iPhone 2G, jailbroken and unlocked, which has been working fine for 2 months.
Unlocking and jailbreaking has always been done with Pwnage Tool.

Then suddenly my iPhone started freezing or rebooting when using the SMS application, I was still using FW 2.2

Using Pwnage Tool 2.2.5 I upgraded the FW to 2.2.1 and the hell began. Everything works fine for 2-3 days, then iPhone becomes unstable and when I switched it off, it just doesn't start again, but keeps rebooting (apple logo forever).

I have to run yet anotehr RESTORE (from the customized 2.2.1 FW) and after rebooting 4-5 times, it works again for 2-3 days.

I have tried using QuickPwn, but the problem is not gone. Same boring stuff.

I am running another restore right now :-(

    Any hint??

    Thank you in advance,

    Luca

Just a question, after you do a restore do you set the phone up as a new phone, and not from a backup?

Restore and set up as a new profile so if there's any corrupted code or messed up preferences it won't re-write them to the phone.

Set the phone up as a new phone...as Poseidon79 has said above, that way none of the corrupt files will be wrote to the phone.

This is a VERY good point. I'll try that, thank you!

By the way, apparently when FW has been patched and loaded by QuickPwn, I have less troubles. ???
