The 3rd digit is the year so if yours is 5 then it was made in 2005....
Assuming it was meant to be an 8 then your phone will have BL 5.09 unless the first two digits are 5K
If you are unsure just dowload Fuzzy and try it - it will soon tell you!He who asks a question looks foolish for 5 minutes. He who doesn't ask a question remains foolish forever.

bricked even tho i followed instructions
Hi, new to this. Wanted to upgrade the firmware on my hacked iphone so i googled all the lit to make sure it wouldn't brick. I read several posts from different sites that stated hitting restore would wipe my phone, upgrade it and start me from scratch as if I had just opened the box.
Now however, it gives me a SIM error and I am wondering if there are any ways to fix the lock on the sim? Otherwise it looks like my option is to request a new sim from Rogers (canada) and hope it will activate.
I have an original iphone 1.1.2 was the firmware and held out on updating it for obvious reasons. My itunes is 8.1
HELP!

Right off the bat, no because his screen allows him to access his home page and widgets, whereas mine is stuck at the 'connect cord to iTunes' graphic.
and when I use QuickPwn on it, iTunes shows recovery option but the phone is blank with no response to buttons being pressed.Last edited by evanngentry; 06-02-2009 at 10:10 PM.
