Please help....unlocking issues

Hi..

Just got an slightly used 3g iphone. It had Cydia on it...and i did all the steps shown on this site to try and unlock it... i installed yellowsn0w...but the phone still says "NO SIM"

Its version 2.2(5G77)...The 3g is off...airplane mode is off...i've rebooted it several times....it still says "NO SIM"

The sim is not bad either...i've tried it on my friends unlocked 2g phone...it works on there....can someone please tell me what i can do? Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

Thanks
