iPhone 2G Activation with New 3G Sim Card

so I pretty much feel like a noob with this question.

I just recently had my 3G stolen, yeah im still recovering from it, so I had to go back to my first gen. But the thing is, its not activated because I was using it with T-Mobile.

I know i could just jailbreak it but I'm really over that now and I just want my phone back..

how do I do this?

when I went to set it up as a new phone it goes with the process of getting a new plan and everything.. so.. what now?
