Well, i jailbroke my Brother friends iPhone, like a 3 weeks ago, and hes having trouble getting the SIM PIN.

Hes told me that every time he trys to use the phone part, or anything that uses EDGE, it asks him for a PIN. He's tried it, and he only has 1 more attempt, and it will go into lock mode or something.

Is there anyway to get rid of it, or fix it or something?

I know a bit about the iPhone, but not much about the phone part and stuff.

put it on another phone and try putting his pin again..
remove the pin from the sim card and insert it to the iphone once again.

does it still show the pin request?

Thing is, he doesnt know the PIN...

whats the default pin? 0000?

Hmm, what would happen if you were to get the SIM locked?

u'll be needing the PUK code.. u'll get it from ur carrier with a phone call if its not in the manual that came with the simcard

Can his phone provider help him out with this? And will the iPhone tell you the number for the PUK code thing?

if you insert a wrong pin for 3-4 times then the simcard is locked. then u'll need the PUK code (8 attempt limit then the simcard will be completely useless) and it will be provided by the phone carrier or the manual that came with the simcard.

Another question... what if his SIM is completely locked (Dead?), can he get another one from AT&T?

Ok, I am having the same problem. But I bought mine from ebay with not sim card and it is fully locked up any ideas?
