i was wondering if anyone out there has a factory unlocked iphone 3g and a dev account who managed to successfully update to 3.0 without getting locked?
i got my friend to add my udid and i have downloaded the firmware.
i have a factory unlocked iphone 3g, will it be possible to upgrade to 3.0 without locking my iphone, and if i revert back to 2.2.1 will i still be unlocked?
would like to know as well. though a bit of a twist in my question. i don't have unlocked ones but will 3.0 bb work with downgraded 2.2.1 if i activate legally?
so no one have ever tried it with a factory unlocked... as i have been researching and my friend found out also that the way factory unlocked iphones activate is the same as locked to carriers iphones do...
is that true?
and if it is true.. is there any known bugs of having the 3.0 baseband on the 2.2.1 firmware given that i may decide to downgrade at some time?
I have been using a 3.0 baseband on a 2.2.1 firmware for about a week now and I have had no problems. It was a little tricky downgrading but once I figured it out I haven't noticed any problems. In 3.0, the GPS in the maps application was all screwy and kept relocating. Anyone else notice this in 3.0?
People, I have an Italian iphone 3G factory unlocked, I have upgraded to the 3.0 beta 3 and it upgraded the baseband to 04.24.02 and I the iPhone has no Signal with any sim.
