    Jailbreak =/= Unlock

    They are two different things. I would restore your iPhone to the stock firmware via iTunes.

    Then run Quickpwn but have the Sim that you want to use inside it during the process.

    Finally, in Quickpwn, make sure you check off Unlock Phone

    Here's a guide just in case (iClarified - iPhone - How to Unlock/Jailbreak Your 2.x.x 2G iPhone Using QuickPwn (Windows))
    If I helped you, then hit the "Thanks!" button please.

    I would also restore and then jailbreak and unlock. If nothing else works you can use an sim unlock card. I use my for a year now and it works great for the new baseband. I got it from here Unlock iPhone 3G - Instant Unlock any iPhone. Incl 2.2.1
    Good luck to ya.

    You can't do a soft unlock with 2.2.1. It has the updated 2.30.03 baseband. Your best bet if you need to use it is to buy one of those SIM unlock cards. Best of luck to you.

    I did a full restore in iTunes and than jailbreak again.
    Make sure your SIM is the phone when you do it

    Maybe this will help you:
    Take out the SIM
    Put it in another phone without the adapter
    Make a call
    Put the SIM + SIM adapter back in

    This worked for my sim card.
