Bought used iPhone - what next??

I bought an iPhone on ebay and the seller is great. I have at&t, but I am not getting the data plan. I'm wondering what the right steps are to activate the iPhone. I dont want to mess it up and end up having to call at&t and get roped into the unlimited data package. I live on a college campus year round - free wifi everywhere, so I dont need to use data.

Help would be greatly appreciated!!

Check your iPhone Spec.. if the iPhone is not yet Updated with the latest v20.30.03 Baseband then you are Lucky, you can still use FREEE Yellowsn0w unlock.

if the iPhone is already updated with v02.30.03 Baseband then you will need sim unlock like REBEL SIMCARD or VIRGIN

Settings => General => About
Scroll down to "Modem Firmware"

But based on what you said, all you need to do is jailbreak your iphone.
To do that consult the "jailbreak" section
