Hey guys,

I have an Australian iPhone 3G that is currently in contract with VirginMobile Australia with a Virgin SIM card. So of course it gets no service here in the US (i just moved back to the US).

It is jailbroken to 2.2.1 with the proper baseband to allow yellowsn0w to work. My plan is to use a GoPhone prepaid sim in the phone.

Is this possible?

I've read that you should just use no sim when you run QuickPWN.

If it is jailbroken, then you should have Cydia or Installer on your phone. Check to make sure that your baseband is 2.28, NOT 2.30. If you have the correct baseband, just go to Cydia, add yellowsn0w source, and install yellowsn0w. That is all to it. You should have signal in no time... You dont need an AT&T sim to do this

You can also try a hardware unlock if the software unlock does not work for you. I bought mine sim adapter here: Unlock iPhone 3G - Instant Unlock any iPhone. Incl 2.2.1
And so far so good, works like a charm for 2.2.1
