Ok so I jailbroke my 2.2 3G and then installed the new yellowsn0w unlock. Now it shows T-mobile as my carrier and show full signal strength and EDGE only thing is I cannot make or receive calls or anything related to the cell phone. I have no clue what going on here. I tried again with a full restore and jailbreak no good. I was able to make one call though but only one. It seems as if it wants to work its just not working. Any help at all would be appreciated.

I have made a few more calls but still it will not make calls other than these few I have made. Now it keeps popping up with this voice mail that I know I do not have and it will not allow me to call my mailbox or anything. I am really frustrated with this thing one minuet I have full signal but cannot make calls the next is back to searching. Anyone having the same problem?

I really don't get it. Wish there was something I could do as of this point I have to resort to an old crappy Motorola razor as a phone.

Thats weird. I would put it in DPU mode, and then restore it to 2.2. Then use Quickpwn. Install cydia again. And then unlock. Make sure data roaming is on. Also, Refresh your network settings.

I mean reset your network settings.

I actually have tried starting from scratch before. I have re pwned the phone 3 times trying to get this right every time I get signal but cannot make calls, then I will connect on one call and that will be it and it never connects again and then loses the signal. I am hoping that since yellowsn0w is still beta but I know this version is very close to the final. Could it be a hardware issue? Perhaps there is something wrong with my phone?

2-Be sure your sim is without pin
3-Your baseband must be 02.28.00

Everything is is correct with that. I will try one more DFU and restore after that I give up.

So I tried all over from scratch. Still no good. Recognizes my sim as T-Mobile, gives me full signal yet will not make or receive calls, just a lucky call will go through then it will lose signal and wont find it again.

Should I just get rid of this phone and get a new one and try again? I have never had issues unlocking iPhones. I have been doing it since the 1st gen iPhone when the very first 1.0.2 unlocks came out. Don't know what wrong with this one.

Try taking out your SIM card,locking the phone for 5 minutes,then insert sim card and wait 5 minutes when it's at the slide-to-unlock screen.
If does not work,try to airplane mode on/off...

Still does not work. I get full signal but am not able to make calls. Wonder how much longer until the Dev team update yellowsn0w.

I had some problems in the past with my older sim card unitl I switched my sim to a newer tmobile sim and the problem went away. Try to use someone elses sim or try a new sim card. Good luck

buddy,i am in the same situation as u are,

my frnd had bought his fone 4rm us,

in india after restoring to 2.2,
i can't activate it using official carriers here,so i have no other option then quickpwn,
then after yellowsnow all other networks other then Vodafone IN works perfectly,
with Vodafone IN it has the same problem as yours,

i suggest you restore 2.2 then activate using a legit sim and then go 4r quickpwn 4r cyda and then yellowsn0w, it might help,
it had worked 4r my iphone bought 4rm US,
