It´s as easy as that.

You will have a higher success rate if you install yellowsn0w through installer and not through cydia. Reboot by doing reset network settings. Wait a minute then airplane mode on and off. If you still do not get signal then do reset network settings again. Once it boots up wait a bit longer then do airplane mode on wait five seconds then off. I have tried all methods and this method is the only one that keeps signal even after a reboot.

Rebooting it over and over worked for me. I cant be sure, but I think shaking your fist in it's screen helps too.

Hey Guys!

I have another method... although I didn't search through this thing to find out if it's been posted. I hope it helps someone!!!

My symptoms that this fixed were:

Airplane mode off/on = INVALID SIM
Running stuff in Terminal = NO SIGNAL or NO SERVICE and a mysterious 'Voicemail message'.

After using my method, I figured out and tested a few times it works like a charm.

Make sure yellowsn0w 0.9.5 is installed and ready to go. Make sure BossPrefs and Terminal are installed. You can find them on the many links in Cydia. Just do searches... very simple!

NOTE: YOU DO NOT NEED TO TOUCH YOUR SIM CARD FOR THIS!!!!

Turn on your iphone with your 3rd Party SIM in.
You will get no signal. It won't give you service.
Run Terminal. It will act like a DOS prompt (for you PC users).

Type in the terminal 'yellowsn0w -r' and hit return. Your phone will ping like the SIM was just plugged in. Go back to the springboard (desktop).

Go to BossPrefs and select 'Power' and then 'Reboot'.

When the phone reboots, like magic it finds the SIM and connects. You may have to give it a few seconds but in my experience it's around 10-12.

I get the full signal bar and then T-Mobile pops up right next to it. I can then text, make calls etc.

This may not work for everyone... Seems like it's different for certain phones.
