Help!!

Could someone with experience check this out for me and verify it is the one i should use.
I have a 2g 16gb iphone and am currently running 1.1.4 fw.
I was planning on upgrading it to 2.2 but need the phone unlocked as i am using a vodafone sim in it.

1)Is the upgrade worth the hassle??
2)Am i running the risk of f"!king up the phone.??
3)Will the link only jailbreak the phone or will it also unlock it for me as i need it unlocked??

iClarified - iPhone - How to Unlock/Jailbreak Your 2.x.x 2G iPhone Using QuickPwn (Windows)

Hope someone can explain it all to me as i have never done it before and am bit nervous as i ran over my first iphone with a pallet truck and only got this one 2 days ago(there will be no more if this one goes pear shaped as the price is a killer )

Thanks in advance

Yes its worth the upgrade for sure! There is no risk to mess up your phone. The most important thing is to plug into iTunes and hit RESTORE (not upgrade). After it's done use Quickpwn 2.2 to jailbreak and unlock. Be sure to keep your SIM card in the whole time. After you're done open iTunes and set the phone up as NEW.. not from backup. 1.1.4 apps are NOT compatible on 2.0+ so you will have to download everything again manually from Cydia. Good luck.

Plug into iTunes... hit RESTORE (no shift key needed)... Use Quickpwn 2.2... the program is very visual and had really big boxes to check like "jailbreak" "activate" "unlock"... just give it a shot.
