I have the 2g iphone on att when i set up my iphone plan i choose 200 texts and unlimited internet for i thinkg it was $25 per month butthen i did the $5 unlimited text up grade so im paying somewhere around $30 per month. If i got a 3g iphone and unlocked it would i be able to use the same sim card and plan or am i just dreaming? Thanks for the help. Sorry if this question has already been answered i searched but i guess i just couldnt find the right wording.

AT&T will find out and will NOT let you keep the 2G plan... It may work for a month or two but you will inevitabwpy get an AT&T text or email or phone call telling you that you must convert to the 3g plan

I can only answer from my own experience.
I have a Fido iPhone that I bought from a friend. When I received the iPhone it had no sim and needed 'activation'.

Once unlocked successfully, it accepted both a Rogers and Fido 'pay as you go' sim.

I suspect that if you unlock you iPhone properly, you will be able to use any active sim in your phone.

BTW, ... who gives a sh*t what ATT 'finds out' It's your phone!!!! You are paying ATT for a phone service NOT hardware.
