I updated my iphone to 2.2 firmware then my old turbo sim stopped working. After that i bought a new turbo sim for 2.2 firmware from ebay.

This one:

Once i got the new turbo sim i inserted it and it said : no service. After that i took it out and inserted again. Then it said that there is no sim at all. It doesnt recognize the sim at all. What to do?

Do you think i got ripped off?

Mine Never worked on my iPhone either so I'm not really surprised.

I did exacltly the same, I am patiently waiting for the software update, unfortunately I have the wrong firmware, so have to wait longer for my version.

As you mention, if your phone is updated to 2.2 firmware as well as the BASEBAND, sorry... the unlock software coming out on 31th will not gonna work. you have to wait longer than that.
In the mean while, you can try this way, it worked on my phone though:
-Take the sim out and put it on a difference phone to gain the signal back. Wait for couple minutes and then you can put it back on your iPhone.

If you upgraded your iPhone to 2.2, you may aswell throw thr turd-o-sim in the bin. The Rebel and Any-Network sims work with 2.2, but neither are perfect.

The unlock code the devteam have written (and which will be released on 31/12) is expected to be applicable to many future firmwares, but the key is finding a suitable buffer overflow or other exploit to inject the code. Such a vulnerability exists in 2.1 and below, but it may be some time, a very long time, before they discover such a vulnerability in the 2.2 baseband firmware.

Wait and hope that the proxy sim guys get their code ironed out in the meantime is about your only option, as you can't downgrade the baseband firmware once you've applied 2.2 (well, not without stripping your phone, removing the chip from the motherboard and manually reflashing the NOR flash chip with a clean image - not for beginners!!!!).

Wohoo! I got my itouch finally converted to an iphone again.
Thanks to Dev teams release of project Yellows0w. Everything is working fine for now. By the way thanks to everyone who tried to help me.
