Hello again i do searchs but no actual ways of sorting it out

right im in the uk

got a iphone 3g

got 2.2 on it and i have an 02 sim in it i get no service and when i turn it on i get a window saying

"waiting for activation this may take some time "

right ok dont worry it has done it it has been jailbroken now what do i do as still have no service and still says waiting for activation please help

Does this mean it is activating your service(activating your sim)? If you put another sim in the phone does it work?

The reason I ask is, if you ran the Quickpwn to jailbreak, activate and unlock then when you put a sim in is should just work. If your are getting a message that it is waiting for activation and you are not connected to iTunes, then I think it is your service or at least that is how I have seen it done before.

I have usually seen this when someone gets an unlocked phone and orders T-Mobile or another carrier and the activation has not gone through the service providers system.

im using an 02 sim just bought the 02 pay and go 3g sim for the iphone aswell i thought that might help but still the same so how do u unlock and activate

Jailbreak, activate and Unlock are 3 different things.
In Quickpwn you should have settings (click a check box) to Jailbreak the phone, Activate the Phone, and Unlock the phone.

As well as install Cydia and/or Installer.

If you put either of your sims into another phone do you get the same message or do your get service?

well all i did was run quickpwn it had tick boxs for cydia and installer and for the pinapple logo but nothing about activating and unlocking

Sorry I forgot that you are using the 3G. So there is no Unlock Option.

It should still activate the phone for service.

Did you try to put your sim in another phone to see if it was active?

the only conclusion I can come up with is your sim is not active, but with out seeing the phone or checking the sim I'm kind of stuck.

If you have completed the DFU restore in iTunes, Quickpwn completed successfully and you have a valid sim you should get service.

well like i said i bought a new sim card i was told by o2 i needed for the iphone and its the favourite place 3g iphone prepay sim card and i dont have another o2 phone to try it

i dont know what to do i bought this second hand so i never activated it or the first person to turn it on or does it make a difference ive been told to leave it 24 hours and it might work is that correct or shall i do the restore on itunes again and quickpwn it again

Check with O2 and see if the sim is activated. When you bought it did they require you to Top up or did they just give you the Sim.

yeah i got as top up voucher but cant add it as i cant call as i have no service to add the top up what ill do is leave it for 24 hours plugged into the computer and see if it works
