stuck when restore iphone 3g... invalid sim card..

Hi, can anyone help me get my iPhone 3G 8GB back to normally? I accidentally clicked on the upgrade from 2.0.2 to upgrade to 2.2 and "no service". then, i tried to restore my iphone back to 2.0.2, but It shows slides for emergency because your simcard is not recognized in itunes 8.0.1 (sim card not legal).. Please help, have been trying to get it back to apple store. but it won't help....

so, your iphone is jailbroken and you've updated to 2.2? you will need to re-jailbreak but your baseband will be updated!!

i mean, when i update to 2.2, it can not used. so i tried to restore it to 2.0.2, but when in the half way of restoring, It shows slides for emergency because my simcard is not recognized in itunes 8.0.1 (sim card not legal).. so i can not continue restoring my iphone. what can i do so i can continue restore my iphone. do i need to restore it again *how?* and what software can i use so i can completely restore my iphone?... please help me....

Put it into DFU mode.(Turn off your phone,hold Power and Home,as the grey apple logo comes up,release the power button, but keep holding the home button and wait for iTunes to detect your phone in recovery mode.
Then restore to itunes.
Use quickpwn(windows)OR pwnage tool(osx) to jailbrake,yellowSnow to unlock...

OK, i do it, but when the restore is finish, itunes popup me an error 1604, and never conect, please, can you explain me, what i doing wrong?

my problem is sorta the same but different, i found my iphone 3g with a sim but i threw away the sim, at first i could do everything. but then i decided to restore it and i think it was b4 it finished, that it showed usb and itunes logo with arow between and all i can do is emergencey calls. I need help plz. If theres some way i can get by that and dl music like if it was an itouch. i have a tmobile sim card only. dont know if that helps. plz, and ty

3g and who is your phone carrier? Or you using a pc or mac? What f/w is on the phone?
