Any-Network Sim adapter V3 for baseband 2.28 is a LIE!!!!

Please be warned friends that the company known as Any-network based in the UK, are complete and total fraudsters!

I ordered a v3 sim adapter from them last week Wednesday (I should have received it within 1-2 days as I'm in the same country as them). After more than 80+ calls, and actually getting hold of someone, i.e. their MD Marcel, I have been fobbed off with lies that my sim card has already been shipped to me. Roayal mail takes one day to deliver in the UK and 2 worst case scenario.
It finally arrived this afternoon, loose in an envelope with no protection at all! Some parts of the edge of the sim adapter look completely bent out of shape too.
Nonetheless, I attempted to complete the seemingly simple installation as my sim card doesn't need any cutting and the micro-chip is on the reverse side of the adapter, compared to all other sim adapters I have seen to date.

Cut a long story short, It DOES NOT WORK!! At All!! No Sim, is the usual message. I hasten to add that their new design doesn't even allow to the adapter to slot into the sim tray with 'ANY' simcard I tried it with! I ended up having to open the iPhone 3G and disconnecting the front of the device to get a closer inspection. It simply doesn't have the room to slide past the connectores due to the chip being placed on the other side of the adapter!
I had to manually insert the adapter from within the phone into its place and then slide my sim card between the metal plate that keeps everything tightly fitted together, then put the phone back together. i did this several times but to no avail.

I can only conclude that the sim adapter they sent me almost a week late, simply doesn't work or is faulty. I'm no newbie to technology or elctronics and have the necessary skills to do what I did. I strongly suggest that most people don't ever open their phones up!

Nonetheless, my T-Mobile sim slips easily into the sim tray without the adapter from any-Network as do 2 other sim cards I have from different network providers, but NONE fit with the adapter without me going through the process described above.

So I strongly suggest and warn any others that they stay well clear from Any-Networks V3 2.2 Firmware solution, as it doesn't work and the company (which I believe concists of 1 salesperson and 1 engineer - probably th esame person and 1 answer machine which is never used other than to avoid customer calls).

I have requested a refund and that request has not been responded to either. I understand that this may be an isolated incident, but is there anyone else that has success with the supposed 'only 3G unlock solution in the world for the new 2.28 baseband', as they claim all over the internet?

I'm sorry to admit that I have been scammed! But not to worry, I'll be getting in touch with trading standards in the UK concerning this and will post a shorter warning, lol, on other Iphone sites where they have spread their lies!

They charge more than double for their sim adapter than anyone else, on the basis that they are the only ones in the world that have cracked the 2.28 baseband problem, yet theirs is the worst of the bunch.

P.S. I spent in excess of 3 hours on this today, to be fair to them, in case the error was on my behalf.

I'm done with sim adapters! I'll sell my fully working but locked to o2 iPhone 3G or start a new contract with o2 and downgrade my existing T-Mobile contract.

All said and done, the dev-team did warn us all to stay away from theses Sim adapters, didn't they? So serve me right for not listening.

Just don't make the same mistakes I did folks and please by all means stay away from Any_Network products as they are scam artist!

I'll also be paying them a personal visit within the next week to get my money back plus my fuel expenses. And trust me, when they see me , they'll only be to glad to pay me off.

I received mine at it's been working well so far and I cover 2000 miles around the UK. You can call me if you want. I'm using a Vodafone sim, but have tried a o2 as well. Perhaps you have a bad one. Shame as I have found them ok to deal with. regards John

Thanks for your reply John.

I'd be happy to be wrong about all this, but then this has been my personal experience and the service I have received from them has been non-existant too.

Yes I would like to call you...I live in norfolk too small world eh?

feel free to give me your number and I'll call you..my e-mail address is imack007@googlemail.com

To the other poster...I'm expecting another card tomorrow..special delivery from Any-Network. If/when it arrives, i'll take photos from beginning to end, including opening up my phone and illustrating how the sim adapter gets stuck due to the chip at the back! Then I'll post the pics or even do a video for youtube.

I'll check back with you all tomorrow once the last mail has arrived...around 2:00 P.M.GMT (mail is delivered late in these rural parts lol).

Thanks for feedback guys.

Mine arrived in 2 days, but when installed I too have had the no sim problem with the any-network 2.2 adapter, after speaking to someone at the office yesterday he assure's me that a new one is on the way, in fairness he did try too help although i'm not sure if it was just a cover up, seemed genuine enough anyway,i will report when the new adapter arrives, by the way i was using an orange sim card.

Thanks for your reply Kev. I'm glad that they have to my knowledge now, dealt with 2 of you reasonably well. Still concerns me though that they have sent out at least 2 faulty cards. So you had absolutely no issues getting the sim adapter and your sim card into your iPhone 3G? If that is the case, maybe I have a bad iPhone 3G.
Anyway still awaiting the next card today. I'll have more to say after that, hopefully good and contrary to my first experience. Still anoyed at the poor customer service though. They hardly pick up the phone and never returned my calls..... and no, I wasn't abusive till yesterday. Not good I know, but when you pay for somthing, don't receive what you pay for, then get faulty goods and are ignored whilst being robbed of way after their own stated delivery date, it does rub one up the wrong way. At this stage I'd be happy with my money back, but fat chance of that.

Just a thought have you tried to reformat (re-install) 2.2 then attach the sim adp. When I had ver 2.1 I had a problem did a fresh install and it work right away. My mate in London received his yesterday morning (not packed well I must add), but it worked out of the box in his phone. Perhaps hopefully if they send you another one it will work. Don't lose heart the phone is great when it works. Regards John

Thanks for your reply prioryman. No I hadn't tried that. They didn't deliver a new card to me either. I would try reformatting/restoring the iPhone 3G, but I just screwed it up by trying to restore to factory settings via the phone itself under settings menu. It said it would take an hour to do so and as I was using my computer to upgrade my 2G iPhone I thought..why not? Boy do I regret t5hat now! The iphone 3G is currently dead..just stuck on the Apple logo and won't reboot into the O/S.

just sorted the 2G iphone out with some help from another member...upgrading to 2.2 comes with issues..lol. So now I'll focus on trying to revive my 3G one and will then try your advice of restoring to 2.2 and trying the sim adapter.

Thanks again.

If you want to call me I will give you my number (UK). I hope the reformatting works for you. Remember if you jailbreak you must do that directly after installing new software. Do not restore. regards John

2.2 unlocking via any-network.com v3 turbosim

I have unfortunately several iphones 3g users who hv upgraded and now their ismart turbo sims or others show NO SERVICE.

I work in Saudi Arabia and over there iphone 3g users are at the mercy of turbosims as there is currently no networks willing to take on iphone and apple.

Presently i am here in UK at home due to go back 2moro. I have found a local sop who has bought a sim V3 from Any-network.com but for him it wouldnt work on his vodafone sim.

I took it from him and in my iphone 3g v2.2 modem 2.28 it works on orange and tmobile. I hope it will work in saudi and will u know in a day or two.

I wanted to order but i failed to get through and left a callback but no one has called.

I wanted to order in bulk to take back to Saudi but i will wait until u guys get a better response and success.

Meanwhile i have ordered from a guy in hong kong at just 12 pounds (6.99 + 5.99)

once these come to my saudi address and are working i will post u a reply and le tu know how goo they r.

hafizayyub (hafizayyub@gmail.com is someone wants to contact me

Well I must say that I'm really supriesed that you managed to speak with anyone from any-network... I have the same problem, it doesen't work with my o2 P&GO simacard. Although in my case it was litle bit different: I didn't work from the begining at all then I tried with my friend sim card which is orange, i had a signal, 3g sign was displayed on the screen, but didn't work, so i tried with my simcard, it worked for 5 hours but without 3g, then the signal was gone! I don't know how can I get my money back, if there is no response from them, neither for my emails or calls. I'm sure that not only two of us have issue with their turbo sim...

I ordered one of these Any-Network SIMS on December 1st and still have not received mine. I have left numerous emails and still have not received any answers. This company either has really poor customer service or this is a sxam. I told them in my last email that if it wasn't here by Friday (which is officially 19 days since I placed the order) that I was going to revoke the charge from my credit card. Hopefully this will give them the ambition to respond.

Just to add my little bit, I have a iphone with 2.2 firmware and baseband 2.28 with a rebelsim 2.2 card v54i firmware and so far very impressed.

The only thing not working (firmware out soon to fix this) is incoming calls sometimes don't work on 3UK, but on gsm its flawless.

I sent an email to them yesterday asking them about a possible fix for switching between orange (2g) and 3 (3g) and within 30 mins i got a response.

After reading this thread I would definitely recommend rebelsim (purchase the programmer too for firmware updates) and i am NOT affiliated with them at all just happy I can finally use my iphone as a phone!

It seems that these proxy sims are very much an unknown with everyone reporting different experiences with different networks.

FAO: iMack007 - I hope you get your turbo sim working soon
