Unlock iPhone 2g (windows) problem

Every time i try to unlock my iPhone using winpwn, i get the error "firmware error string" and i cannot proceed. Does anyone know how to resolve this problem. If so then please comment. Thanx in advance.

You need to Restore your phone to apple 2.2 firmware with itunes and then use Quickpwn 2.2 to jailbreak/unlock.

Use quickpwn for what ever firmware you are on. I have never been able to get winpwn to work, but quickpwn works everytime for me.

Quickpwn should activate, unlock and jailbreak the phone as well as install cydia. If it did not work you may need to try it again.

The only thing it does not do is allow you to use a custom firmware.
