iPhone 3G Activation
I accidentally upgraded my original iPhone 3G to the new 2.2 firmware and hence updated the baseband so my TurboSIM no longer worked. So I traded mine for one that was still on 2.0 and installed a custom 2.2 firmware without the baseband update and supposedly activated, now I have a new problem.
I can escape the emergency slider screen if I put a AT&T SIM in the phone, but then the phone just reads "Waiting for Activation" but it works perfectly fine on iTunes, but if I switch back to my TurboSIM/Cincinnati Bell SIM I get service and everything on the phone works perfectly, but I get that annoying "The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported" screen in iTunes. How do I go about getting rid of this?
Edit: My phone said "iPhone is now activated"(While AT&T SIM was in it),when I switch back to my SIM I still have the "The SIM card inserted in this iPhone does not appear to be supported" which is just a serious hindrance in syncing and such.Last edited by GMaccow; 11-28-2008 at 06:43 AM.

Sounds like the custom firmware you used didn't have activation selected when it was put together. Whoever made it probably didn't need their 3G activated because they are under contract. Try a different custom firmware package.

You will have to go in airplane mode, when connecting to itune, or have a at&t sim replacement.
