How to Make O2 (UK) iphone 3g work with official carriers (Airtel/Vodaphone)in India

I have a 16 GB iphone 3G bought from UK. Now i am in india. In india iphone 3G is launched by Airtel and Vodaphone. Now both Airtel and vodaphone sim dosnt work on my UK iphone 3G. Is there any way i can make this official Indian Carrier work on UK iphone 3G. Or can i somehow extract firmware from Airtel or Vodaphone provided iphone and apply it to my UK iphone. Any help is appriciated.

I have contacted Airtel and Vodaphone but they are unable to help...

You have to unlock it using a piggyback sim like gevey, turbo etc. There's no way to extract the firmware from another iphone.

If there was, we would've already extracted it from the factory unlocked ones and used it to unlock any phone.

if its jailbroken then you are able to unlock your iphone using ultrasnow if your on 3.0 or higher....
