I would appreciate some help with my iphone.

hey guys, i have a 2g iphone. it was used before me. its screen isnt in the best condition but the cracks are very few, and im starting to think the screen condition has something to do with the shitty service ive been receiving on my iphone.

i have tmobile as my carrier, and i previously had a sidekick lx. keep in mind i got service everywhere.

now i only get service in my house and i quickly lose it after i leave my house.

i was banned for asking for help about this on some website called mac rumors.. that website is horrible, anyway...

after two days of research and calling tmobile i got these answers

to try apn addresses wap.voicestream.com and internet2.voicestream.com. both really didnt do anything at all.

at this point i was convinced it was tmobiles fault.

so then i borrowed a friends at&t simcard, and i got the same result with service in the house and none outside, note the service in house for both carriers was very random.

i unlocked / jailbroke the phone with winpwn and its at firmware

can anyone help me out with my problem?

Update : Stil not working, downgraded to 1.1.4.. still no service and constant searching. This sucks. Anyone have any suggestions at all ?

both work for 2g, and 3g

macrumor do not support jailbreak and unlock. i don't understand why ppl won't modified there stuff to get the best, is no different i got 88 toyota supra from 230hp to 500hp by modified it, no different, i have a computer with more ram, and better graphic card. no different. i have a zippo lighter with better material to insure it light everytime. no different i use a hdmi cable on my ps3 for better graphic then what they gave me from the box.

to get support from tmobile not going to be helpful, they actually don't mind at all for iphone, they actually able to set up my information of the iphone on my account easily. but when it come to technical stuff.

here step by step.
i would go ahead go 2.1 or 2.2
using quickpwn 2.1 or 2.2 to unlock jailbreak activated
then install apn editor from cydia
then install tzone hack from cydia
it should already put in the information for u already.
but not, then try wap..... but in guest for both pass and user
if doesn't work
try epc.tmobile.com
with no pass no user
check data roaming on(either one u use)
then it should work perfect.

i using 2.2 fw on 2g with tzone, work perfect and great signal
i use 2.1 fw on 3g with tzone with gevey 3g sim but internet want to work one day then next day don't work
but its the sim adapter problem.

your screen crack don't have anything to do with attenna.
u can buy new glass on ebay to replace, u can buy the whole glass, digitzer, lcd back case, attenna cover. on ebay.

hey man did you get your iPhone working? I really would like to know, as I am buyer of somewhat broken stuff and then try and get them to work! In other words, I'm one of those that pretty much won't give up until I've exhausted all means of trying to get it to work. Don't give up man, but if you do, please do let me know!
