Unlock 3G Iphone for the 3 network

Hi All

A new member just got a 3G Iphone & have purchased a turbo sim card but have no idea what settings are needed in the cellular data

APN
username
password

The turbo sim works in my N95 OK. When i put my 3card & turbo sim in the Iphone it told me it was activated but i have no service & there are no settings in the APN where before there was the O2 information.

Any help would be appreciated as i am an Iphone virgin

PS dont go anywhere where ther is no signal or the Sim will stop working, you'll have to put it back in a three phone and then put it back in the iphone to regain your signal.

Turbo Sims just aint worth it in the UK Bud

Thanks for the quick response i thought it was three.co.uk & have entreed it TNA, I have no signal at all & have tried to restore as new Iphone but still does not give me any signal

Some questions that might make helping you easier.

What Firmware are you on? settings/general/about
What Baseband are you on? settings/general/about should say modem frmware.

What sim adapter are you using? Brand/version number

I am on version 2.2(5g77)and the modem firmware is 02.28.00, When you ask what sim adaptor do you mean the turbo sim or the 3 sim i have tried , When i put the O2 sim in i still get a no service but i put an orange sim in all i get is flat signal ???? You may be aware i havent a clue but am willing to learn.

None of the sim adapters work on 2.2 as the baseband was updated to 2.28.00
No fix as yet for this i'm afraid

he is right, 2.2 fw update will update your basdband and it will make sim adapter stop working(if u already got 1) and chance for unlock a very slim, i would try to do a trade, to get 1 with 2.1 update only.

your double done on that one as if its not been said enough already....no sim adapters work and once youve updated the 3g to 2.2 there is no turning back as of now. your pretty much screwed unless the dev team finds some way to save you but thats not likely in the near future. make sure you read about stuff before you upgrade your firmware. sorry dude.

I'm currently running my jailbroken 2.1 with Turbosim on three in Ireland. My sim works fine in work, where I have signal, but when I'm in an area of poor signal, it will drop and may/may not return. I've gotten around this problem by simply resetting the network setting. However, from other forums people have also recognized this problem and advise to change adapters. Is there any better adapter which will not disable my sim is the signal drops? Or has anybody found a solution to this?

Thanks for all your replies, I have now been able to jail break & i dont mind not using it on 3 but after jail breaking i still get NO SERVICE, It is all activated & in General & Carrier i get all the usual network providers o2, orange, Three, ECT, But no matter what simi try i get no service after a while, I am begining to think this phone may be blocked.
