Hello everyone, I just purchased a 8g iphone 3g for t-mobile. Bought it from a local shop around here. Phone was unlocked using with turbo-sim, and it seemed like it had cydia & installer as well.

After going home and adding my contacts and I decided to charge the phone using the USB to my computer.

A while later, I decided to turn off the phone (holding the switch at the top right) and and just let it charge while I run errands. A while later, when I turned the phone on, it shows the apple logo than the phone would show this screen with the charger with an arrow pointing to itunes.

What does this mean? I can't seem to bypass this screen.. any help is greatly appreciated.

you need to set the thing up in itunes. make sure you place it in airplane mode for this. set it up as a new phone as well. tell me how that works and if it fixes it....if not your gonna need to do a restore most likely using DFU mode.

Should I download the newest itunes than plug it in? Any other steps I can take?

yes on the newest version of itunes and as far as other info goes..just follow the steps in the article and you should be fine.
