activate 2.1 without att&t

i need to take my phone to apple , how can i just activate it before i go back to apple.im on 2.1 firmware .

why u taking your iphone to apple? just update the phone with 2.1 firmware with itune 8 then quickpwn it. it'll be activated

is it a 3g or a 2g, why r u taking it in?

only way to activate with out att is to unlock but then i don't suggest taking it to apple.

I am assuming you are asking this because you are taking a phone in without an ATT contract... otherwise iTunes will activate your phone for you. Bottom line (as Alperovich said) you need an active ATT account for Apple to give you the light of day regardless of what phone you have. If it is a legally unlocked phone and you are in the states I am not sure what Apple policy is on that...

att can't stop u from using a unlock phone, but sure hell they'll give u hell to help u, u don't have to let them activate to use it, just get u a cheap phone. if u just starting a contract then switch your iphone with it, or if u have att already well just put your sim in, u would have to activate it after u restore it, and itune will activate if u have a att sim, if not, just use quickpwn, btw NICE legend, love acura.
