Problems with Turbo sim on Iphone 3G

hi everyone, i'm sure this topic has come up before but i have searched the forums and couldn't find it so i decided to make this thread.

I've just bought a new iPhone 3G and i tried unlocking it with turbo sim, everytime i turn the phone on i get a full signal with my carrier's name at the top and then a second later the name goes away and it says no service and after a couple of minutes it says no sim.

I have jailbroken my iphone but the problem was the same before i did that so i don't think it has anything to do with it.

Any feedback you can give me on this will be greatly appreciated, i could really use your expertise.

UPDATE: I tried a T-mobile Sim card and it worked perfectly, could it be cause my simcard is over 8 years old?

turbosims are designed to work with sims that are 3-4years old.. any older then you would have problems...

ya after trying other sims i realized that so i went down to the company today and got a new card and everything is peachy thanks for the help though

if your phone loses service using a turbosim, if you cannot get back the service you have to insert the tmobile sim card only into an authorized tmobile phone. Once it gains servce, i usually make a couple phone calls, check my voicemail,etc. Put it back in the iphone with turbo sim and it should work. This is an annoying problem

Hi i have i phone 3G with firmware 2.2.1 and baseband 02.30. also i have a turbo sim but i cant get it to work for somereason with my new activated t-mobile sim. i keep getting "Diffrent Sim Detected Please Connect to itunes" does anyone have any ideas on what i can do? it is unlocked but i still get same msg.

I have this problem, turbosim working ok with calls, sms and gprs in 2.2.1 firmware baseband 2.30…, after accidentally activating 3g (some stupid friend did it!!) now I don't get any gprs or edge signal, my sim is fine I tested in other phone, I'm in Costa Rica.

Any help will be appreciated.

i have a gevey 2 plus
i have used it for about 3 weeks and yesterday it just stopped what could it be? it just keeeps saying searching!! it does this for about an hour then says no service or sim? what do i do please help

I had the same problem as meny of you. Suddenly my iphone start to display no service message. I followed the instructions above. i put the sim in another phone and make 1 call. This solved the problem for me

Im using the iSmart G3 Storm Sim Unlock i just got today and the signal is pretty good so far but i cant get online with any of my Apps. My APN is the epc.tmobile.com and i tryed both wap's. I reinstalled my apps and its the same thing. Can some body please help me. Thx
